Cobh
Cobh is the major sea town on Great Island , situated in the world's second largest natural harbour , Cork Harbour. Cobh has a great tradition and history as a sea port, most notably for being the last port of call for the tragic maiden journey of the Titanic. Cobh is a very picturesque town built on a hill side and dominated by St. Colman's Cathedral,which took over 50 years to complete.

Cobh is so steeped in history and heritage that you will find it easy to step back in time and savour the experiences of bygone eras.

The Titanic Trail, St Colmans Cathedral, the Heritage Centre and Cobh Museum are just some of the journeys that await you. Being a Heritage Town , the area attracts thousands of visitors all year round and over 50 cruise liners call every summer. Cobh Tourist information office will be happy to provide details on local fine food restaurants, festivals and attractions such as the nearby widely renowned Fota Wildlife Park and House.

Fota Wildlife Park 
Just 10 minutes from Cork City, Fota Wildlife Park is one of the most modern parks of its kind in Europe. Beautifull located in 40 acres of grassland, where giraffe, zebras, ostrich, ... roam together as they would in Africa Savannah. Monkey and Gibbons play on the lake Island while kangaroos, macawa and lemurs enjoy the freedom with 70 animal species.




Fota House & Gardens  
This fine Regency-style building in a pleasant landscape setting on Fota Island , is complemented by the internationally renowned gardens and arboretum. It reflects well the life-style of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Today it welcomes visitors to see the House itself and to enjoy the fare provided in the tea-room.




Jameson Heritage Centre
This is the superbly refurbished 18th Century Whiskey Distillery at Midleton. You can see the largest Pot Still in the world with a capacity of 32,000 gallons. Each visit culminates in the Jameson Bar with the Irish Whiskey tasting session when you may have the opportunity of  becoming a qualified Irish Whiskey Taster with a presentation diploma.


 

Queenstown Story
Between 1848 and 1950 , 6 million people emigrated from Ireland to America and 2 and a half million of these left from Cobh.


 

Sirus Arts Centre
Sirius Arts Centre features year round arts and cultural programming. Located in the historic Old Yacht Club Building at the edge of Cork Harbour , Sirius exhibits contemporary visual arts in its two spectacular galleries, monthly acoustic music concerts and lectures/readings by artists/authors from various backgrounds. 



Titanic Trail
This is a guided heritage walking tour through Cobh , visiting famous sites relating to the Titanic, when it called at Cobh before heading for its fateful destiny.
Cobh Museum
Cobh Museum is situated in the former Presbyterian Scotts Church overlloking the Harbour.

Magnificent cathedral that took over 40 years to build in the 19th Century.

Cork City Public Museum & Fitzgerald Park 
The present Museum was opened in 1945 under the administration of The University College Cork and was grantaited by Cork Corporation and Cork County Council. The collections cover the economic, social and municipal history of the city and surrounding area from the Mesolithics period on wards, with particular emphasis on Civic Regalia and the trades and crafts of the 19th and 20th Centuries.



Shandon Bells
The church has a facade made of limestone on the two sides, and a red
sandstone on the other two. The clock face is known by the locals as the "Four faced Liar" because, up until 1986 each face showed different times. Visitors can climb the
tower and ring the Shandon bells.

Blarney Castle
This historic castle is most famous for its Stone, which has the traditional power of confering eloquence on all who kiss it. The word Blarney was introduced into the english language, it is described as "pleasant talk, intended to deceive without offending". Everyman Palace Theatre

The Everyman Palace Theatre is a sister theatre to the Olympia in Dublin, and it first open it doors in 1879. The threatre in the past has attracted artist such as Charlie Chaplin and Vesta Tily to its stage. It was later turnded into a cinema and was named The Palace Cinema. In the 1980's it was reverted back into a theatre and still puts on shows regulary .

The Box office is opened from 10am - 7.30pm....
